I learned about Barbara Kruger alongside other feminist artists like Cindy Sherman. I guess they’re both pretty standard bullet points in university Art History courses, but hopefully they get more attention in Gender Studies.

(On a side note, I’d kill to interview Cindy about digital photography and the explosion of self-portraiture it brought about, especially in regards to body image and sexuality. An impressive portion of the nude photographs I collect here on Synthetic Pubes are self-portraits. How crazy is that?)
