Fuck the darkroom right in the ass. I don’t miss those days. I have books filled with instructions and recipes for my own prints. They’re like spell books for a dead magic.

I’m embarrassingly inexperienced—only a year in the darkroom before going digital—but I too have binders of notes and test prints. What a waste. Those wretched ‘spell books’ represent a larger monetary investment than my current DSLR+lenses, which are basically an unlimited ticket to the amusement park. For better or worse, digital is a boon to cash-strapped hobbyists like myself.
